The Random Number function returns a random number that is equal to or greater than zero, but less than one. Parameters ------------------ None. Function Value ------------------------ This function returns a random number that is equal to or greater than zero, but less than one. The numbers generated by this function have an equal distribution. The output of this function can be converted to any range using simple math operations. For example, a random integer from 1 to 10 could be generated by multiplying this value by 10 (the number of possible values), adding 1 (the offset of the first value), and using the Integer function. Simple gaussian distributions (bell curves) can also be created by averaging together multiple random numbers.
