The Summation Bars Ago function returns the number of bars ago being evaluated internally in an array function, such as a summation. Parameters ------------------ None. Function Value ------------------------ This function is one of two summation index functions. Summation index functions are used inside of array functions to vary the processing of the elements of that function. For example, this function could be used inside of a Summation to apply a different multiplier to each element in the summation. Values range from 0 for the current bar to the period minus 1 for the earliest bar. Summation index functions can only be used inside of internal array functions. Typically, they are used in the Summation function, but the can also be used in the Median function and others. They will not operate properly in functions derived from other array functions. For example, since the Moving Average function uses a Summation function for its processing, the Summation Bars Ago function will not operate properly in the Moving Average function. Since summation index functions can only be used within other functions, they are only available from within the formula editor.
