TradingSolutions Function Library

  System: Current Position [System_CurPos]
Return to Complete List of Functions
The System: Current Position function determines the current position of an entry/exit system.

Parameters
------------------
None.

Function Value
------------------------
This function determines the current position of an entry/exit system. Specifically, it finds the most recent entry signal and returns either that signal or the most recent exit signal that counteracts it if one has occurred since then.

Enter Long:    Long in Market
Enter Short:    Short in Market
Exit Long:       Out of Market, Most Recently in Long
Exit Short:       Out of Market, Most Recently in Short
Hold:               Out of Market, No Entry Encountered

The length and position of the current trade are based on the previous values generated by the entry/exit system this function is used in. Because of this, it can only be used from within an entry/exit system or from within a function which will be used in an entry/exit system.
