Analysis or Stocks and Commodities (TASC) magazine is currently accepting votes
for its annual Readers’ Choice Awards. TradingSolutions is on the ballot
in two categories, “Artificial Intelligence Software” and "Standalone
Analytical Software, $500 and more." If you subscribe to TASC and enjoy
working with TradingSolutions, we would appreciate your vote!
TASC subscribers can vote online at http://technical.traders.com/Products/ballot.asp

The Solution Service is a free service that provides
daily trading signals and commentary for a select group of stocks. These models
can be used directly as part of your trading strategy or used as examples of
how to generate your own winning signals. To access it, simply press the
“Update Solution Service” button in the toolbar of either the evaluation
version or registered version of TradingSolutions.
Since the last newsletter in the middle of October,
the NASDAQ and S&P 500 have reversed their downward trends, rebounding
10-15%. During this time, the PeopleSoft model gained over 35%. Several
models were caught holding shorts during the late-November rallies, resulting
in a small composite loss for the Solution Service.
This marks the first time that the Solution Service
under-performed the indices since the composite figures have been monitored.
Watch for performance to improve in the coming months as we re-evaluate several
of the current models and replace them with updated ones.

This Issue: The Information View Chart Button
Almost one year ago, a handy feature was added to
TradingSolutions to allow you to quickly display charts of the Primary Signal
and Service Signal. This feature was the Information View Chart button.
The Information View Chart Button
This button allows you to quickly display the default chart
for the stock currently displayed in the Information View, which is the
currently selected stock in the Portfolio View.
By default, the chart displayed by this button includes the
closing price, the Primary Signal, and the volume. This is very useful for
getting a quick overview of where the primary signal traded relative to the
closing price. We here at NeuroDimension use it frequently when writing the
Solution Service commentary to get a sense of how the current trade is
progressing, as well as how previous trades reacted to similar conditions.
If a stock in the Solution Service “Active Solutions” group
is selected, the default chart will display the Service Signal instead of the
Primary Signal. This allows you to quickly view the trading for a stock in the
Solution Service.
Customizing the Default Chart
While the default settings for this chart are very useful,
many users prefer to see additional information. For example, some people
prefer to see High/Low/Open/Close bars or Japanese Candlestick charts instead
of just the closing price.
To modify the settings of the default chart, select “Options…” from the “Tools”
menu and view the “Charting” tab. The Charting page allows you to modify the
contents of default chart, as well as change the initial display range for all
charts. For example, you may want to display a High/Low/Open/Close chart and
set the initial display range to one month so that you can see the detail bars.
Other options allow you to display the Secondary Signal if one is defined.

Interactive Brokers is one of the premier online brokerages
for the active trader. They offer a Universal Account where the active trader
may trade stock, options, futures, currencies, and exchange traded funds all
from a single account. This includes commissions as low as $1 per trade, access
to the world's markets, advanced trading technology, and a brokerage firm with
a reputation for being a leader in its field.
The majority of traders on the NeuroDimension staff use
Interactive Brokers for executing their trades, as do many TradingSolutions
users. When you are trading signals that change as often as once every few
days, the savings in commissions over other brokerages can be considerable.
For more information about Interactive Brokers or to open a
trading account online, visit their web site at: http://www.interactivebrokers.com
Many TradingSolutions users read Technical Analysis of
Stocks and Commodities (TASC), the Traders’ Magazine. It’s a great way to
trade smarter with detailed information on trading strategies, charting
patterns, indicators, and computerized trading methods. As a free service to
our users, we arrange for the “Traders’ Tips” section of the magazine to include
tips and techniques for implementing many of the indicators found in the
magazine in TradingSolutions.
Each time a tip is included in the magazine, we also include
the implemented functions in the Solution Library on our web site. These
functions can be imported into either the full version or the evaluation
version of TradingSolutions and are completely free. Visit the Solution Library
now at: http://www.tradingsolutions.com/download/solution.html
