The Solution Service is a free service that provides daily trading signals and commentary for a select group of stocks. These models can be used directly as part of your trading strategy or used as examples of how to generate your own winning signals. To access it, simply press the “Update Solution Service” button in the TradingSolutions toolbar.
Since the last newsletter in mid-February, the NASDAQ and S&P 500 gained around 9%. During this time, the Texas Instruments model gained over 40%. Overall, the Solution Service models combined to generate an over 6% profit. Several more conservative models and one stopped trade kept this value from being larger.
A total of three new models have been introduced since the last newsletter, including models for Chiron, Halliburton, and Walt Disney. The Chiron model introduces an example of using stops for loss protection to the Solution Service.

Feature Spotlight: Flexible New Data Properties
TradingSolutions v2.1 introduces several new data properties to allow TradingSolutions to process your data more efficiently. These intuitive new settings allow an amazing degree of flexibility in how data in your portfolio is processed. Here is an overview of several of these new settings.
The exchange indicates which stock exchange or market this symbol is traded on. For indices, this would be the source of the information. Exchanges allow you to define the time zone, opening, and closing times for a market. They also allow you to select a set of ticker symbols. The exchange is especially important for intraday data since it determines when relevant new data is available based on market hours.
The data source indicates where to import data from for this symbol. TradingSolutions v2.1 adds support for end-of-day and intraday data from eSignal in addition to the existing support for data from Prophet.
For example, you can import historical data for a symbol from a file, develop a model, then change to updating this symbol from eSignal by changing the data source for that data. Data sources are also useful in that they allow you to update your data from multiple locations in one single step.
New update options allow you to select which data should be updated and when to update it. For example, you can select to only keep some data up-to-date on a daily basis and only update other data when you are researching new models. Similarly, you can restrict the data you are streaming in the Real-Time version to only the stocks and models you are trading.
You can access these and other data properties by double-clicking on a stock in the Portfolio View, or selecting “Data Properties…” from the context menu for a stock. You can also view and change data properties for entire groups of stocks by double-clicking on a group in the Portfolio View, or selecting “Group Properties…” from the context menu for a group.

Many TradingSolutions users read Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities (TASC), the Traders' Magazine. It's a great way to trade smarter with detailed information on trading strategies, charting patterns, indicators, and computerized trading methods.
